All capsules in our range are biodegradable. We use so-called bioplastic, which is made from corn starch and/or raw sugar. The land used for this production is so small that it has no impact on necessary food production. The capsules decompose after approximately 3–18 months (depending on the decomposition environment) if they come into contact with microorganisms, such as those found in compost. Since the capsules in our range – unlike other bioplastics – are not petroleum-based, a CO2-neutral cycle is guaranteed.

Disposal in your own compost is possible, but decomposition can take up to 18 months. You can dispose of the capsules in your organic waste bin. Some industrial composting facilities are only designed for the short decomposition times of, for example, fruit or garden waste. Due to the longer decomposition times of the capsules, they are then sorted out and sent to an incinerator. Since the capsules are not petroleum-based and are made from renewable raw materials, they are burned in a CO2-neutral manner. If the capsules end up in a waste-to-energy plant, and the resulting energy and heat are used, this even supports CO2-neutral energy production.

In very rare cases, older machines may become slightly warped over time, causing the capsule to not fit properly or the coffee to not flow properly. In such a case, we will, of course, take back all capsules and refund the full purchase price, including any unused packaging and shipping costs. So, you don't have to worry about being left with the costs.

We only sell capsules containing slow-roasted organic coffee. This means the coffee is gently roasted at low temperatures. This eliminates bitterness and preserves the aroma. Unlike industrially produced coffees, which roast at high temperatures to reduce production costs, each of our capsules contains coffee from certified organic farming. This guarantees guilt-free enjoyment and a quality product that is free from synthetic fertilizers and pesticides.

Every variety in our range comes from controlled organic farming and is certified accordingly. To ensure you can be absolutely certain that the processes are being adhered to, we, as a retailer, also undergo annual certification by the inspection body.

We source our capsules from smaller roasters. These usually buy the green coffee in smaller quantities and directly from the plantations, without intermediaries. This allows the farmers to receive better prices, and our suppliers also pay attention to this and often even support projects in the producing countries.

Nespresso®* lost its patent on the capsule system in 2015. Since then, various manufacturers have been working on coffee capsules made from sustainable materials. Roasters purchase the capsules from the manufacturers and fill them with their coffee. So that you don't have to search across Europe for the best coffee capsules, we've created a platform that offers you the largest selection and a real alternative to the aluminum capsule.

Definitely not! We work with smaller roasters and companies from all over Europe. By working with us, you support family-run and traditional businesses. Many of our suppliers have been roasting for generations and practice their craft with love. They often also support projects in the coffee-growing countries and promote organic farming and fair trade. We make sure to source under fair conditions and work in partnership with our suppliers.

We have a very close and friendly relationship with our partners. We don't engage in price-cutting, as otherwise our suppliers would also put severe pressure on the farmers in the producing countries.

We don't manufacture the capsules, and we're not a coffee roaster. We're a retailer, and our product range includes great brands from all over Europe.

There are a small number of manufacturers of compostable coffee capsules. They sell their products to roasters, who then fill their coffee in them. As a retailer, we bring together the various varieties and brands from our partners so you have a wide selection and can discover brands from all over Europe.
